The Division Road Cemetery was closed to further burials in 1898. The City of Kingston Upon Hull eventually acquired the cemetery and cleared the monuments so that the cemetery could become part of the recreational green space for that area of the city. As a consequence, very few monuments remain on the Cemetery grounds.
Holy Trinity parish burial records, including Hessle Road Cemetery burials from 22 Jan 1862 to 2 Feb 1898 have been deposited with the East Riding Archives (The Treasure House, Champney Road, Beverley HU17 9BQ). The inscriptions on monuments in the Division Road Cemetery were recorded prior to its conversion to a recreational space. A copy of this record is available from the East Yorkshire Family History Society (Carnegie Heritage Centre, 342 Anlaby Road, Kingston upon Hull, HU3 6JA). Other documents related to this Cemetery can be found in the archives at Hull History Centre (Worship Street, Kingston upon Hull HU2 8BG).
There are 25 Commonwealth War Grave Commission burials from the World War I here but the graves could no longer be adequately maintained. The names of the soldiers and sailors buried in the Division Road Cemetery are now commemorated on a wall in Hull Northern Cemetery.
